A Whole Lot Of Rock & Roll
Based on the incredible true story, Million Dollar Quartet details the one night in 1956 when Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis came together in the studio for an impromptu jam session.
Presented by the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, this Tony-winning musical features a cast who all play their instruments and sing live on stage, and is positively bursting with rock & roll classics. Among the songs featured are 'Blue Suede Shoes,' 'Fever,' 'Great Balls of Fire,' 'Walk the Line,' 'Matchbox,' 'Hound Dog,' and many more!
What is Million Dollar Quartet About?
The year is 1956, and with Christmas just around the corner, four of the greatest rock stars America (and the world) has ever seen happened to drop by the Sun Records Studio in Memphis at the same time. Elvis Presely, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins spent the evening improvising cuts from their own back catalogues, alongside some older country and gospel tracks that they all loved. Luckily for us, a quick-thinking sound engineer pressed record, preserving the historic moment for posterity.
