Based on a novel by Roy Horniman, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is set in a dark Edwardian England and follows Monty Navarro who is determined to receive his sizeable inheritance, by any bloody means necessary. The novel was written in 1907 and the production first premiered on Broadway in 2013.
The dark comedy received four 2014 Tony Awards following its Broadway run including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical and Best Direction of a Musical. The play also won seven Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Musical and Outstanding Book of a Musical and two Outer Critics Circle Awards.
