SHATNER APPEARENCE IN CHICAGO - YAAAAAAAAWN!

My son invited me to attend the "Wrath of Khan" move presentation with a live appearance of Captain Kirk, Bill Shatner! We are both avid Star Trek kinda guys, so this seemed to be pretty cool! Nothing could be farther from the truth! In a nutshell...It was a total waste of time and money with very expensive tickets! The talk was MC'ed by Mancow Muller, a Chicago radio personality. He was a waste too. Shatner said -0- about anything Star Trek related! Kinda thought he would speak maybe to the Kahn movie, but no, nothing. In fact, he just chit chatted about everything from paint balling in Joliet (?), to boxer or brief underwear(?), to how many driving tickets he's received over the years(?)! Wonderful! Again, Shatner said nothing, about why I believe all the folks in the audience attended, about his stardom as Captain Kirk! He should be ashamed of how he appeared. And for the life of me, I cannot understand why he would present himself as such a dumb-ass person. Sorry.

POOR PERFORMANCE

So sorry for all of us who thought we would see something from the past that would ignite our imaginations. Shatner's very presence killed all the magic.

MORE LIKE "AN EVENING WITH A RAGING NARCISSIST."

1. Participants filled out cards with questions. None of those questions were asked; instead "fake" cards were used with set questions (verifiable by looking online at videos of the same show in different locations with the same questions). 2. Do not expect him to discuss the film. Instead, you will listen to rambling and incoherent stories about his life. 3. The VIP ticket should be classified as criminal theft. This isn't a meet and greet. Shatner sits behind a plexiglass screen like the Pope, completely unresponsive. I actually believed he was a wax sculpture -- that's how unresponsive and unmoving he was. He literally did not move. 4. The only upside to this horrible experience was that we finally understood why all of Shatner's costars hated him so much. That was crystal clear. 5. Broward Center should be totally ashamed of being a part of this travesty of a show. Wish I could give it 0 stars. Save your money. Save your soul. And save your fandom. Do not go to this show.
